Thom Webster boasts over three decades of expertise as a startup leader, business consultant, investment advisor and entrepreneurial force across both profit-driven and philanthropic ventures within private and public spheres. With a career spanning 35+ years, he has consistently lent his guidance as an executive advisor, board member, and investor to organizations, steering them through strategic planning, divisional launches, and financial ventures.
Thom's proficiency in initiating such programs is clearly demonstrated through several operational engagements. He serves as a Startup and Investment Advisor to Philadelphia's University Science Center (UCSC) for its Life Sciences Accelerators, and as the Lead Program Advisor to the BIO-Entrepreneurship Capstone program, a collaboration between NIH SEED and UNCF. All these efforts are pioneering projects bolstering African American and underrepresented Founders' involvement in the Life Science R&D/Commercialization and Bio-entrepreneurship sectors.
Also, as a Co-Founder of Black Squirrel, Thom assumes the role of Chief Program Officer, spearheading its $15 million Real Estate Investment Accelerator. This initiative provides training, capital, and coaching to underrepresented neighborhood developers, facilitating the construction of 50 affordable homes annually in Philadelphia, PA, and Wilmington, DE.
